Brand New Ram Lamb

Yesterday Button had her lamb. He is an adorable little guy. So far all we did is strip her teats (get milk to flow from them), watch to see he is getting milk (they wiggle their tails when they are drinking), and iodine his navel. In a couple of days we will take care of the other things.

Sorry about the lighting in this video. The heat lamp makes it look odd.

Awww! Congratulations to Button! He's a cutie! Was he a bit early? I thought they were expected around Christmas?

Thank you.
Merinos breed year round, they are one of the few breed that will. In about 60 days (maybe a little more) we will breed button again. They take an average of 145 days to lamb, so we should have another one from her in 9 months.

Congratulations on the ram lamb, hope he is still doing well!

He is doing great. He hops all over the place and plays with his pen mate, another ram lamb born a week after him.
